The Lowry

Manchester

The Lowry is a theatre and gallery complex at Salford Quays, rooted in Salford and shaped by the city’s energy and pride. As a charity, it reinvests every pound it makes back into its work, supporting local communities, nurturing young talent and creating a programme as diverse and open minded as the city itself. The venue brings together theatre, live performance, exhibitions and events, offering space for different views, voices and opinions. Opened in 2000 and named after the painter L. S. Lowry, it houses a major collection of his work alongside changing exhibitions. Whatever visitors are there for, from a show or exhibition to a comedian, band or workshop, The Lowry aims to meet them with art and creativity.
